Hello Felicity

Yesterday, up on the stair,
I met a man who wasn’t there.
He wasn’t there again today,
I wish, I wish he’d go away…

I heard this one sometime ago,

Though, it fell upon deaf ears.

I realize now through misty eyes,

It has brought me now to tears…

Such sadness fills me to the brim,

It causes me to sin…

But why you ask, this man that’s there,

Why does he plague my mind?

That man that’s there he brings despair,

Yet he’s so hard to find.

Though wish I may &wish I might,

That man, this man he’s out of sight.

To each the man is different,

To me he’s but a trap-

If you catch a wayward glance,

No longer do you stand a chance.

Oh man this man please let me be,

No friend you have within me…

Yet I choose to shut the door,

So you’ll stay with me forever more.
