Pause

Every time I have that moment,
I want to hit pause.
A moment that brings on those emo-
Feelings about what is missing in your life.

I want to hit pause,
Every time the past repeats itself.
I want to walk away from the memory.
No, run.
Run away from these annoying thoughts
I can never seem to shake.
The ones that play over &over.
The ones that drag me back to the time that hurt.
Times.
Plural.
Forward I moved but seems I’m stuck in a moment.

Never really accepted,
Never really moved forward.
Guess I hit pause,
And never pressed play.

Memories.
Paused.
