In Your Dreams

At night I hear you,
Forever tossing; turning.
In mind your dreams are restless,
Reflecting every thought.
Every silent feeling…
Words you cannot say.
I know you’re not one for words,
But your dreams tell all.

Tonight you awoke; Frightened
Scared that your dream was real.
For you had a nightmare,
That truly made you feel.

No words about what you’d seen,
Only a frantic hug.
Come here you’d asked,
Arms outstretched –
Sleep still christened your eyes.
“I had a nightmare about you…”
I returned the embrace
&kissed your face
Told you I’m still here,
There’s no need to fear.
